Grand Canyon University invites high school and community college students across the country to a free, virtual technology competition: Your Place in Space. Participants will collaborate within a software development and IT infrastructure lifecycle in a series of storyboards related an outer space adventure.
Students will solve problems throughout the storyboards, all created by GCU Technology faculty, associated with topics like:
- Computer Science
- Cybersecurity
- Data Analytics
- Database Infrastructure
- Information Technology
- Project Management
- Software Engineering
- Software Development
Following the completion of this event week, participants will have a clearer picture on where their technology interests fit into GCU’s technology-based degrees, as well as career opportunities in the field. Complete milestones, change storylines and accumulate as many points as possible throughout the event to win! The top five students* will each receive a certificate signed by the Dean.
Submission Details
Throughout the event, participants will explore a variety of different storylines, each with a specific milestone and corresponding directions. All milestones must be submitted throughout the week or in bulk by noon AZ Time on Jan. 29. Submissions after the deadline will not be accepted.
To submit your milestones, please email [email protected] with Your Place in Space – Milestone 1, 2, 3, etc. in the subject line, along with your name, Instagram handle and correct screenshot of the completed storyline in the body of the email.
