Dance students are invited to a week-long overnight1 camp at Grand Canyon University! Come develop your skills through instruction with fellow dancers. All classes are taught by distinguished dance faculty and guests, assisted by teacher candidates from GCU College of Arts and Media’s Dance Department.
Courses include:
Male and female dancers ages 14 to 24 years are invited to the Summer Dance Intensive. Students must have two consecutive years of dance study. Students will take placement classes on the first day of camp to determine their technical levels (beginning-intermediate and intermediate-advanced).
Family and friends are invited to a dance performance presented by Summer Dance Intensive students on Friday, July 14 in Ethington Theatre. General admission is free. Details regarding the location and time will be provided in an email closer to the start of the camp.
Our studios are located on the first floor of Saguaro Hall, Building 46. The two adjacent studios feature sprung floors and storage for students’ belongings.
For camp attendees staying in the residence hall, passpoints will be issued for hall entry, but rooms will not be equipped with locks. You can store any valuables you are concerned about in your supervisor’s room, which is equipped with a lock.

Please download the permission slip and submit it with your RSVP. Payment will be requested after the form is filled out.
1 Students graduating in spring 2023 (i.e. still in high school) have the option to stay in the residence hall or commute daily. Students who graduated prior to spring 2023 do not have the option to stay in a residence hall and need to select the commuter option.
2 No refunds will be given on or after July 10 (first day of camp).
There is no option for daily drop-in classes.
Any remaining balance must be paid on the first day of each camper’s attendance.
